There's A Heartbreaking Detail In "Stranger Things 2" That You Probably Missed And It Will Kill You

Now, for the rest of you who are done with Season 2 and looking for a way to fill the void in your heart, let's take a moment to talk about love of my life Chief Hopper.

I could watch this for days, TBH.

If you recall (and I'm SURE you do), there was a super-sad flashback in the Season 1 finale to Hopper and his family.

We first saw his daughter, Sara, have a panic attack, and then in another flashback later that episode, we saw her in the ICU where she eventually died.

However, let's take a closer look at the first flashback. Notice Sara's hairband?

Cute, but a little unremarkable, right? *whispers* Wroooong.

Okay, now take a look at what Hopper is wearing on his wrist here.

YES, Hop is wearing Sara's hairband as a bracelet.

And you can see he continued to wear it long after Sara died.

This shot is from Season 1, Episode 5, when Hopper is talking to his ex-wife Diane on the phone.

Now let's jump forward to Season 2 — Check out what Eleven is wearing on HER wrist here at the Snow Ball.

As eagle-eyed Redditor keulenshwinger first noticed, it looks like Hopper gave Eleven Sara's hairband!

CRYING.

Obviously, Hopper has really taken Eleven under his wing this season (and literally adopted her as his own daughter).

So, it's not THAT surprising he'd bestow this small, but significant, memory of Sara's life on El.

Maybe next season Eleven's hair will be long enough to even wear the hair band? Although, let's be real, it works pretty perfectly as a bracelet.
